Wicrypt is a decentralized smart Wi-Fi network platform that belongs to the sharing economy and Internet of Things track.
It is to let users earn income and mine Wicrypt Network Tokens (WNT) by sharing their hotspots, while letting other users connect to these hotspots by paying WNT. Wicrypt also provides an explorer mechanism that lets users participate in the network maintenance and governance by staking WNT.
It was founded in 2019 by Nigerian entrepreneur Ugochukwu Aronu, who was inspired by his personal experience in Nigeria, where he often faced unstable and expensive data charges. He came up with the idea of using blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to build a more fair and efficient Wi-Fi sharing network.

In 2019, Wicrypt obtained the approval of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), becoming the first legal Wi-Fi sharing platform.
In 2020, Wicrypt conducted pilot tests in two cities in Nigeria, Lagos and Abuja, attracting more than 10,000 users.
In 2021, Wicrypt conducted a token presale on Coinbase Launchpad, raising about $1 million in funding.
In 2021, Wicrypt launched two hardware devices, Spider and Lynx, which allow users to deploy and manage their hotspots more easily
The current status and progress :
