Most of DOGE's activities are conducted behind the scenes, with staff using the encrypted messaging app Signal to communicate, helping to keep the organization largely secret. Vivek Ramaswamy, who initially co-led the project with Musk, recently stepped down to announce his candidacy for Governor of Ohio.
