Somnia is a high-performance, cost-efficient EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that can process over 1,000,000 transactions per second with sub-second finality, making it suitable for millions of users and real-time mass-consumer applications such as games, social platforms, and metaverses, all fully on-chain.

In early MVPs, Somnia achieved 1,000,000 TPS across 100 globally distributed nodes, primarily through ERC-20 transfers between hundreds of thousands of accounts. The next step will be benchmarking real-world workloads by deploying Uniswap, testing swap capacity, and simulating large-scale NFT mints similar to the Otherside other deed mint.
