According to TechFlow, on June 7, ChosunBiz reported that Alpha Asset Management, managed by Choi Joon-hyuk, husband of Korean star Jun Ji-hyun, suffered significant losses from investing in the gaming company Wemade. Alpha invested a total of 35 billion KRW in Wemade stocks in 2023 and 2024, and due to a roughly 28% drop in stock price, the cumulative book loss has reached 15.80 billion KRW. This decline is related to the second delisting of the Wemix virtual currency from Korean exchanges. Wemix previously lost about 9 billion KRW in assets due to a hacker attack. Wemix is a virtual currency issued by Wemade through its subsidiary.
