Ripple's XRP Ledger now supports the world's second-largest stablecoin, USDC. Circle announced that USDC is now live on Ripple's XRPL, allowing developers, institutions, and users to utilize it without the need for bridging. As the largest "regulated" stablecoin globally, USDC can be used for enterprise B2B payments, global fund transfers, financial infrastructure applications, and DeFi liquidity provision. This launch increases the number of blockchains supporting USDC to 22. Previously, there were rumors that Ripple planned to acquire Circle for about 5 billion USD, but Ripple's CEO denied this. Circle just completed its IPO this month, raising 1.10 billion USD, with strong stock performance.
