XRP Ledger (XRPL) mainnet has adopted the stablecoin USDC one week after Circle, the issuer of USDC, went public. Circle's platforms, Circle Mint and Circle API, now support USDC on XRPL, enhancing liquidity on the network. XRPL, linked to Ripple, plans to launch an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain in Q2 2025. XRP, XRPL's native token, is the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Circle completed its IPO on June 5, with its stock price surging nearly 200% shortly after. USDC accounts for about 25% of the total stablecoin supply, second to Tether's USDT at 65%.
