Bitcoin programmable layer project Hemi completes $15.00M financing round, led by YZi Labs, etc. According to The Block, Bitcoin programmable layer project Hemi has completed a new round of financing of $15.00M, led by YZi Labs, Republic Digital and HyperChain Capital, with participation from Breyer Capital, Big Brain Holdings. The project's total financing has reached $30.00M and will be used to advance the development of a network that integrates Bitcoin security with Ethereum smart contract functionality. This round of financing will support its ecological expansion and subsequent token generation activities. The core of the Hemi stack is the Hemi Virtual Machine (hVM), which is designed to embed complete BTC nodes into the EVM, enabling operations such as lending and asset portfolio management on the Bitcoin network through cross-chain "tunnels" and proof-of-consensus mechanisms. Co-founder Jeff Garzik (early BTC core developer) said that Bitcoin does not need to be reconstructed, but needs supporting tools to unlock its potential. The project claims to have over 100,000 verified users and 400,000 community members, and has integrated or cooperated with more than 70 projects such as Sushi, LayerZero, and MetaMask.
