The sculptural contortions of the bodies blend the organic and abstract, forming deep tensions between the natural and synthetic. Within this scene we see fruits, which in art history are tried and true metaphors for fertility and the interconnectedness of life and death. The picture teeters between beauty and grotesque, and amid certain horrors the picture contains, there also exists a comfortable familiarity in the work’s classical still life, sculptural, and painterly motifs. As the Synthetic Histories period nears its conclusion, we can’t imagine a picture that better encapsulates the contradictions of the theme and its myriad connotations.

Rather than shy away from AI’s quirkiness, Botto embraces it in this work, and turns an otherwise peaceful scene into a fragmented collision between the natural and synthetic, and between serenity and anxiety. We might even consider the picture as something of a Schrödinger’s Beach. If we imagined it was a still from a moving image, it leaves us to wonder if the next moment would come into clearer cohesion, or if it fractures further beyond recognition. In the top half of the image, a lone figure appears to be returning our gaze. We’ve interrupted his solitude and perhaps breaking the experience of serenity that comes when staring into vast oceanscapes. Litter-looking objects blow in the breeze, further suggesting emptiness and a certain encroachments of humanity into the natural world. Below, there are two figures who appear almost as if they are hunting across the beach’s expanse, and a small reflection in the puddle suggests an object overhead, a hint of further narrative that’s beyond our grasp. It’s natural to assume that each of these vignettes suggest two separate moments. If we start to imagine which scene is before and which is after, it sets alight all sorts of imaginings, through which Botto is asking each of us to complete the image in our own visions.

Leveraged Restaking is now live on @arbitrum with upto 9X leverage on @RenzoProtocol's ezETH. The integration comes with a 2X boost on ezPoints for borrowers and a 1X boost for ETH lenders. You can access this by switching to the Arbitrum network on LRTs on Gearbox have grown to over $195M worth of ETH restaked on Ethereum mainnet. But a minimum borrow amount of $20K and high gas fee meant that not all users were able to utilise Gearbox's leverage. ezETH's Arbitrum deployment thus marks an important milestone for the Gearbox DAO. The minimum borrow amount on Arbitrum has been reduced to 0.35ETH, this enables users with collateral as low as 0.05ETH to partake in Leveraged LRTs. At the same time, if you wanted to earn passive yields on Gearbox but mainnet gas fee was a barrier, you can now earn similar yields with much lower gas costs. The base APY for ETH lending is already over 28% and thanks to Renzo, lenders also earn 1X ezPoints on their deposits. You can lend your ETH here: What next on Arbitrum? The above mentioned UX benefits make growth on Arbitrum a key priority for Gearbox. Arbitrum's native DeFi presence and activity further provides multiple opportunities for Gearbox to grow its offerings.
