Fairblock coined the term "https for web3" to communicate our vision to make encryption and privacy available and accessible to: - to all users in the frontend of current applications/wallets without significant delays, requiring them to change their network, or install cryptography libraries - making encrypted transactions available to developers in major L1s/L2s not just an isolated L1 We think it's important for the crypto industry to make privacy/encryption a seamless and accessible standard like https which can be used in 80% of web3 and not introduce compliance/UX/delays challenges like Tor which can be used by only a few people. So far we've taken significant steps toward this goal by building great crosschain infra and big partnerships (TBA) for bringing encrypted txs in all major ecosystems and making the experience really easy for developers and users to try. We want to make the future as simple as our demo, where you don't even notice that we're encrypting your transaction: https://t.co/VJ4rjn5hUl The goal for Fairblock is to serve as an encryption/privacy layer (or co-processor) when we accelerate/facilitate the growth of the whole ecosystem by abstracting away all of the technical and operational challenges of running encryption integrations in the protocol/frontend, decentralized key generation, zk verifications, re-encryptions which cannot be realistically handled by protocol developers in DeFi, Gaming, AI, Intent mechanisms, sequencing layers and other applications. We see ourselves as the next piece of the modular puzzle following Axelar, Eigenlayer, or Celestia, where a network facilitates and accelerates other builders. Instead of cross-chain messaging, shared security, and data availability; we’re abstracting away all of the bandwidth overhead, onboarding, and maintenance costs of running the privacy and encryption network in a secure and decentralized way. While we love memes, we acknowledge that we're still in the early days of revolutionizing the new internet with lots of open technical challenges with huge imapct in our future where we can enjoy personal medicine, defi, AI tools, and gaming while not exposing ourselves to wild open nature of decentralized systems. This is a pretty big goal like Bitcoin, needs lots of great minds, experimentation and collaboration, and better technology cannot be stopped.
