⚓ Dev Update: Naval Battles, Mesh Network & More! 🌊We've got exciting updates! JM made major improvements to the Depth of Field in the map scene, bringing sharper, high-resolution visuals. Check out the before & after below! 🔍✨We’ve got some exciting progress to share as well:1️⃣ Naval Battle Scene & Player Position Updates:Player selection is running smooth in the title scene with no major stuttering, thanks to optimized frame task distribution. Avatar updates like clothing options are now faster without freezing the main thread.2️⃣ Mesh Network Enhancements:We’re exploring moving the mesh network to a separate thread, which could improve disconnect handling and gather more data. Live note servers are up to get better insights for future improvements.3️⃣ Tree and Vegetation Updates:Andrew is enhancing tree shading and wind animations. We’re addressing shader issues causing overly dark shadows on low-detail trees (LOD5). Depth of field adjustments are looking good, but there are concerns about sharpness when it’s disabled.4️⃣ Water Effects for Naval Battles:JM updated the water effects for naval battles, and they’re ready for testing! 🌊 Expect these updates to be live soon.5️⃣ UI Enhancements:Emma’s suggestion to improve the escape function in chat is now live, preventing accidental exits. Plus, more water effect tweaks have been added for extra polish.6️⃣ Shadow & Player Model Alignment:We noticed player models hovering slightly above the ground in screenshots due to shadow misalignment.
