I’ve been writing in crypto since 2017, and along the way I’ve seen countless decentralized tools emerge to support creators—plus plenty of new writers making names for themselves.
Crypto needs more of them: analysts, critics, educators, poets. If you’ve got ideas worth sharing, the hardest part is just starting. The good news? Publishing in a crypto-native way has never been easier.
Here are the top platforms to get started.👇
~~ Analysis by @wmpeaster ~~
• 🪞 Mirror — Last year, Paragraph acquired @viamirror. I'd recommend Paragraph personally, as it's where the focus is now, but Mirror’s still solid for publishing on top Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks. Many top projects still publish here, like Optimism.
• ✍️ Paragraph — @paragraph_xyz has been around a while, and it's hotter than ever thanks to growing adoption in the Base and Farcaster ecosystems—like the new Paragraph mini app. It's also very NFT-friendly. Mint your entire post as an NFT, just a snippet, or embed an external drop.
• ⛲ Fountain — @fountaindotink is a new, open-source platform native to Lens. If you find yourself going deeper into the Lens ecosystem, Fountain’s a logical home base for long-form posts.
• 📝 Fileverse — Built on decentralized infra like Ethereum, Gnosis Chain, Arweave, IPFS, Safe, and ENS, @fileverse's dDocs is like the onchain version of Google Docs or Notion. Great for archiving and sharing content. I’ve archived some of my poems here, for example.
Prefer short-form, imagistic content? Want to release your work as collectibles? Here are your best bets:
• 🎴 Highlight — An EVM platform, @Highlight_xyz just released a new marketplace UX. If you drop writing as images—especially collections—this is the most streamlined option right now.
• 🤠 Rodeo — Want an Instagram-like experience for posting your writing images? @rodeodotclub is your go-to. It recently switched to dollar pricing, making it even friendlier.
• 🔮 Zora — @zora lets you instantly turn any content into memecoins. The project just unveiled text support, so now you can release short text blurbs as coins if you’re after a more liquid alternative to NFTs.
Publishing is just half the battle. The other half is getting your work in front of more eyes—driving discussion, growing followers, etc.
Of course, publishing your content is half the battle as well. The other half is getting it in front of more eyeballs for those desirable second-order effects, like generating good community discussion, getting more followers, etc.
A force multiplier? Posting your content to onchain social networks like @farcaster_xyz and Lens.
For Farcaster, start with Warpcast (soon rebranding to Farcaster). It has a large user base and a Paragraph mini app that makes it easy to read and collect your content.
Expect more writer-friendly mini-apps to launch soon—or join channels like /words.
While Farcaster spans Ethereum, OP Mainnet, and Snapchain, the latest Lens version lives on its bespoke network, @LC. If you want to post here, get comfy.
Fountain is your Paragraph equivalent. For something more like Warpcast or X, try https://t.co/dhcPo9gD2t. Want to experiment more? Check out @onbonsai’s Smart Media studio, where AI-driven posts evolve and earn over time.
Want to post across X, Farcaster, and Lens at once? Use web3 crossposting apps like @thefireflyapp or @yup_io.
Other helpful tools:
• @hypersubxyz: an onchain Patreon for managing subs and sending premium posts to your top fans.
• @KiwiNewsHQ: a crypto-friendly Hacker News board. Post your hits here for wider reach.
I know what it's like to be nervous to post your stuff. I know what it's like to have Imposter syndrome, which I have to this day. But if you want to be a writer in crypto, at some point you'll have to cross that threshold and throw your name into the ring.
The biggest obstacle to you now is likely psychological. You'll get better over time, we all do. But I think it's fair to say that in crypto, we need more people to step forward as writers. I want you to write. Don't be afraid to start. And if you decide to make that leap, try these tools and make them work for you. And don't hesitate to hit me up, I'm happy to proofread anything. Godspeed!
