Let’s break it down piece by piece!🔹 Blocks → Think of a blockchain as a chain of digital Lego bricks. Each block stores confirmed transactions, and once those are added, it can’t be changed! This is why we refer to blockchains as immutable.🔹 Cryptography → This powers the security of transaction signing. Blockchains typically use asymmetric cryptography - so it’s easy to calculate your address from your seed phrase, but not the other way around. This keeps your wallet key secure, but everyone still knows who you are.🔹 Mining vs. StakingMining (Proof of Work) → Mining uses math puzzles to validate transactions in a block. Each block becomes more difficult to mine, and all miners on a network are trying to solve it at the same time. Once a miner does solve it, they get the reward, and everyone’s transactions are confirmed!Staking (Proof of Stake) → Instead of relying on miners, Staking refers to Validators. Validators can accept token rights for voting (not spending), which increases the amount of blocks they produce. More staked assets = more trust! We refer to this as Economic Security.Chains like @SeiNetwork are powered by Proof of Stake, and are considered the low-energy and high-performing alternative to Proof of Work chains!
